Privacy Policy

The short version. Resona records a short voice sample, analyzes it entirely on your device, and shows you a score. Your audio recordings never leave your phone. We don't ask for an account, a name, an email, or any sign-in. We can't identify you.
What Resona does with your voice
When you record a sample, Resona measures acoustic properties of your voice — things like pitch, pitch stability, jitter, harmonics-to-noise ratio, loudness contour, speaking rate, and pauses — using audio processing and speech recognition that run locally on your device. The recording is held only long enough to analyze it and is never uploaded to any server, never stored off your device, and never shared.
Your past scores are stored only on your device (and in your own iCloud backup, if you have device backups enabled). We have no copy of them and no way to access them.
Optional AI feedback (Resona Pro)
If you use the optional AI feedback feature, Resona sends a small set of numeric results — for example your mean pitch in Hz, jitter percentage, and words-per-minute — to our processing service to generate written tips. We never send your audio recording, and the numbers we send are not linked to your name or any account. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold or shared for advertising. The request is rate-limited using a random device identifier that is not tied to your identity.
Analytics
Resona uses privacy-focused analytics (TelemetryDeck) to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, how many people reached a score or shared a card. These events contain no personal information and no audio. Your individual score is only ever reported as a coarse bucket (e.g. "70s"), never the exact value, and never anything that could identify you. Resona does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. Resona never sees your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
What we do NOT collect
- No account, name, email, phone number, or password.
- No audio recordings leave your device.
- No contacts, photos, location, or health data.
- No advertising identifiers and no cross-app/website tracking.
Children
Resona is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- Microphone & Speech Recognition permissions can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings (the app simply won't be able to record or measure pace without them).
- Delete your data by deleting the app — because your scores live only on your device, removing the app removes them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date above.
